Belated Thankfulness…

Well, the thankfulness isn’t belated, but posting about it is…

As many times as I get frustrated with life and circumstances, I have so many things to be thankful for and yet I somehow manage to neglect actually mentioning them.

Here are just a few things that I am thankful for:

  • A God who loves me no matter what: Thank you, Father, for your love, mercy, grace and forgiveness that is so unfailing.
  • My wonderful fiance, Cody: Thank you for your unconditional love. I can’t wait to be your wife because I know God has brought us together. I look forward to many, many years standing by your side. I promise to support you in everything you do. Even when we are poor in the wallet, we’ll never be poor in the heart… 🙂 I’m also thankful for the last few uninterrupted days spent with you, especially that Starbucks on Saturday. It’s really nice just to sit and be able to talk.
  • My family: Thanks for always being there for me. Thanks for supporting me through all my growing up years. I know it’s been hard for you but I hope to show you that it’s been worth it. I pray that we continue to grow closer together as a family. Thanks for being so supportive of me and Cody.
  • Those “good morning” texts: They sure do help me start my day a little easier.
  • My future in-laws: You are wonderful people who have welcomed me into your family from day one. I’ve enjoyed all the times we have spent together and look forward to many more. Thanks for supporting me and Cody as we begin our journey of life together.
  • Travis, Kris, and the people of THRIVE church: You guys are amazing. I have enjoyed getting to know you all so much. I’ve never imagined being welcomed so much into a church family but you guys have really proven what Christ’s love is all about.
  • My friend Hannah: I have enjoyed getting to know you so much over the past year or so. I’m thankful that you let me borrow your cool movies that no one else seems to appreciate. I’ll treasure our friendship forever! It’s great having a shoulder to cry on when our professors drive us bonkers. 🙂
  • My friends Ruth and Christineff: I’m sad everyday when I think about you guys and how you live so far away. I’m so thankful for our friendships, even though we don’t get to see each other or talk as much as we’d like. I love guys always.
  • My roommates, Joy, Jess, and Kris: I barely ever get to see you guys but it’s been great living with you. I’m very thankful for your friendships. I’m definitely going miss you, Joy and Jess when y’all graduate in December. I sure do wish you the best.
  • All my college friends: Every one of you, in some way, shape, or form, has helped me grow so much. I wish that there was some better way to thank each one of you personally.
  • My college professors: Especially Mrs. Dill who sometimes just listens to me and for teaching me so much about being a musician and Mr. Day who can always bring a smile to my face, even right after making me cry. 🙂
  • My job: It has really given me a greater appreciation for precious (sometimes not-so-precious) children and it is everyday teaching me how to be a better mother, even though I don’t have children of my own, yet.

I apologize if I’ve left anyone off the list. It was not intentional and I’m very thankful for you.

I’m sure everyone and his brother who has a blog has posted a list or something similar to this but I felt like I needed to post this too. I hope we all remember to be thankful not only during this holiday season but every day of our lives!

Thanksgiving Day!

I came across this quote a few minutes ago:

“Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, – a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.”
~George Herbert

“But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.” That’s awesome.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Some amazing artwork…

Well, the subject is amazing. The artist, however, is not very talented.

I had to draw this in class today for a lesson that a classmate was teaching to us. I must say, he’s much more handsome in real life.

Notice the sideburns and the wedding band. 🙂

I’m not sure why one of his eyes are bigger than the other. Maybe he’s winking.

Another day at the office…

The other day, we were walking around the playground as the kids were playing. They were really behaving themselves for once and while walking around we stumbled upon this:

Buried alive!!!

Okay, not really. He was just squatting on his knees. It’s funny because he was allowing his friends to cover him in mulch. It was awesome! I love children!
