Well, my history anyway…

January 30, 2008–one year ago today, my life changed. Drastically.

For the better.

One year ago today, Cody Thomas dropped to one knee in front of me and asked me to be his wife. At the time, I was the happiest woman on earth.

The best part–he just makes me happier every day. Every single day.

Thank you so much for your unconditional love. I’m so thankful that God has brought us together to share this beautiful journey.

I’m armed!

Well, in a sense.

Somewhere deep inside, down in the depths of my soul, lives a crafty-thrifty-creative-super cheap-interior designer/creator. With that hidden desire comes the need–want?–to have certain supplies at my fingertips so that when I get the itch to create, I can do so. 

Over the last couple weeks, I have aquired a couple of “if you’re a woman you should have these” tools.

My glue gun:

Isn’t she beautiful?! 

And my staple gun:

Amazing, huh?! Love it!

Confession: Cody actually bought the staple gun, so I guess it kinda sorta belongs to him…but I’ll use it a lot! In fact, I’m in the middle of a project now in which the staple gun is hard at work!

Christmas Break

One of the highlights of Christmas break-Christmas Day, actually:

I drove a tractor! My grandfather is a farmer and we went up to his land. He cranked it up, I hopped on and took it for a spin!

My little helper…

For the record, kids almost always put a smile on my face. No matter what I’m feeling inside, they always seem to turn it into something warm and fuzzy.

For instance, I looked up from the book I was reading to another child to find this:

Now normally, this cute little girl would be trying to get me to read to her, no matter what I was doing. Today, however, she was entertaining another little boy by “reading” to him. Of course that meant that she was pointing to pictures and mumbling but they were having a ball!

A few minutes later, I looked up and saw this:

While it looks like she had this kid in a choke hold, in reality she was “holding” him and he was thoroughly content. To have them getting along was quite a blessing this morning! It only lasted a few minutes but it was a beautiful display of love!
