Camp starts tomorrow!!!

Well, sorta.

Tomorrow we will be heading up to Table Rock to set up equipment, run a sound check and attend a counselor meeting then the kids will come in on Monday. I’ll be a counselor for most of the day and playing in the band for the evening services. I’m so excited! Oh, I love camp!

Hopefully, *crosses fingers* I will start my job this week, too. That means for a couple of hours a day I will have to come back to Central to work at the daycare. (The reason I haven’t started yet is because they are waiting on paperwork to come back to the office.)

This is going to be a busy and tough week but I’m so excited! Pray especially for Cody as he is leading worship this week. He’s also praying and seeking direction from God in special ways so maybe these couple of weeks at camp will provide for him (and me too!) great opportunities to hear from God.

In the meantime, I need to start packing…

An exciting new development has come to the blog world! Cody now has his own site complete with fully customizable design and his own domain name. This blog is slightly different than his old one, mainly because he is hosting it himself and not using WordPress.com. (He’s still using WordPress software.) This gives him many more options to make his blog professional and unique.

Life Lessons, Part 1

Over the past few weeks I have learned a few lessons…

• If you use a stainless steel pot or pan, go ahead a wash it. It’s not as easy to clean later like non-stick.
• Don’t form an opinion about someone until you know them. If someone tells you something about someone else, don’t believe them. Find out for yourself. Get to know that person.
• Doing hard work (like moving all your stuff to another apartment) is much easier when there’s someone there to help. (Thanks, babe.)
• Laughing hysterically always makes you feel better. Every time.
• Road trips (even ones that are only an hour or so long) are always a great time to talk.
• If you have a problem with someone, go ahead and talk to him/her about it. Even if it’s hard it will make things better in the long run.
• Learning something new everyday is fun when you use Digg.
• Writing notes to people will make them feel special.
• Having regular quiet time with God makes life so much better. (This should go unspoken but I think we all need a reminder sometime.)
• Watching my favorite movie always puts me in a good mood.
• Kids really do say the funniest things. One day, I hope to write down all the cute things my kids say.

These are only a few things that are rambling around in my head right now. As I learn, I’ll add to this list.
